Lealon Martin, PhD

Managing Principal

Dr. Martin is managing principal attorney at LeCorte Martin, P.C.  Dr. Martin provides legal services within the intellectual property, cybersecurity, and employment-based immigration law practice areas.  He has worked extensively in matters involving patent prosecution and litigation in the chemical manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, software encryption, and pharmaceutical industries.  His immigration law practice includes drafting and submitting temporary visa and permanent resident petitions for scientists and engineers.  Prior to joining LeCorte Martin, Dr. Martin worked as an attorney at Fish & Richardson, P.C.  Additionally, Dr. Martin provides local and general counsel services, and can handle matters at all stages of litigation and patent prosecution, including pre-filing and pre-answer analysis, initial pleadings, fact discovery, depositions, claim construction, expert discovery, summary judgment, patent filings and responses, and inter partes review proceedings.  Dr. Martin also provides diligence analysis and legal opinion work services for at-risk products and patent portfolios.

 

Dr. Martin is a Chemical Engineer in the specialized area of Process Systems Engineering (PSE), with technical expertise in developing mathematical modeling tools that identify optimal designs and control schemes for a broad range of chemical and biological process applications.  He has co-authored several peer-reviewed technical journal articles with former students and colleagues in PSE related to biosystems, nanomaterials, fluid dynamics, water treatment, chemical reaction network synthesis, biomass refining, and power generation networks.

Shitong Sun, J.D.

Of Counsel

Shitong Sun is Of Counsel with LeCorte Martin PC. Mr. Sun’s practice emphasizes patent prosecution, intellectual property counseling, and patent portfolio management in the chemical, mechanical, and electronic arts, including software.  He has practiced patent law since 2011, serving as both counsel to startup companies in Austin and in the California Bay Area.
